The Carene line was introduced in the mid 1990s and was meant to be the less expensive version of the Edson model, suitable for the medium range market.

The inlay nib recalls the old time CF model of the 1970s but with a sturdier and more refined design. The line was originally offered with lacquered finish where each color had a reference to the sea. The range of colors was later on enlarged with the addition of a few satin finishes.

The line comprised a Deluxe series, too with sterling silver and vermeil cap on lacquered barrels. Colors were black, amethyst brown,Prussian blue, tartan green and a few others.

This deluxe Carene mechanical pencil is unused.
